The second half of the year is always fascinating in the tech world, especially for smartphones. The reason behind this is that we get to see the new technologies, which are introduced earlier in the year and materialized into commercial products. Starting with July, OnePlus is gearing up to launch its new mid-range offering OnePlus Nord in India, while POCO has confirmed to disclose its POCO M2 Pro on July 7th. Alongside the two OEMs, Vivo, Realme, and Google have also lined up their respective smartphones to launch later this month.

?POCO M2 Pro?

Xiaomi’s spin-off brand POCO is stepping into the modest segment of India with POCO M2 Pro. The handset is confirmed to launch on July 7th in the country. It’s believed to be an overhauled version of the global variant of Redmi Note 9 Pro. The POCO M2 Pro is verified to feature a dot notch display, quad rear cameras, Snapdragon chipset, 33W fast charging tech, and side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Its other specifications may include 6GB RAM, a 5,020mAh battery, a 6.67-inch DotDisplay with an FHD+ resolution, and a 64MP quad-camera setup on the back. The handset could be powered by Snapdragon 720G chipset and run Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box. The POCO M2 Pro price in India is expected to be in the sub-Rs 15,000 categories. ?OnePlus Nord?

It has been confirmed by OnePlus that it’ll launch its mid-range OnePlus Nord phone on July 21 through an AR launch. The company has released the OnePlus Nord AR app on the Play Store and App Store so people can experience the device virtually.OnePlus Nord will be working on 5G. By now, we know quite a few details about the company’s upcoming mid-range phone. Last month, the Chinese smartphone maker confirmed that the phone will be available only in India and Europe.OnePlus has also revealed some of the specifications of the phone, such as dual front cameras — 32-megapixel and 8-megapixel — and Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. The device will challenge sub-$500 devices such as the new iPhone SE in markets such as India and Europe. However, in India, the iPhone SE is priced at ₹42,500 ($568). If OnePlus launches the Nord with a price tag below ₹30,000, it’ll become the top choice for many buyers.

The series includes Vivo X50, Vivo X50 Pro, and Vivo X50 Pro+. The Vivo X50 would be available in two color versions for international markets: Frost Blue and Glaze Black. Meanwhile, the Vivo X50 Pro may only be available in Alpha Gray color. The first international markets to receive the X50 and X50 Pro series of phones include Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and India. However, the company could extend its availability to other territories, such as some European countries. ?OPPO Reno 4 Pro?

Launched in China last month, the Reno 4 series will enter markets such as India but rather with a distinction. While the exact launch timeline of the Reno 4 series is unknown at the moment, it has passed certification websites that surely hint their global debut is near. This week, the Oppo Reno 4 Pro was said to come with changes in the display for the Indian market. While the leaks did not specify what these changes are going to be, we speculated Oppo could go for a bump in the refresh rate to pit the Reno 4 Pro against its cheaper rival, including the Poco X2. The Reno 4 Pro, however, will likely be targeted at the mid-range- somewhere between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 in India. Oppo will need to do justice to the price category, hence, the changes in specifications. The Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro could also retain their 5G connectivity in India, which will only be enabled later with an OTA update. Both Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with up to 12GB of RAM. The smartphones have 4000mAh batteries under the hood and quad-rear camera setup, which includes a 48-megapixel main sensor. There is an in-display 32-megapixel camera on the smartphones.
